A post on Hacker News caught my attention. Be curious, not judgmental

In this video it shoes how to reset a GE smart light bulb. You should take 3min to watch it. It’s one of the funniest serious video I’ve ever seen.

In it they show how to reset a smart light bulb.

I find it hilarious that we are here, with video form the company that explain how you to do a long sequence of steps to reset a light bulb. How did we end up here? With all our technology and sofistication that are suposed to make life easier?

It make me think about old simulation called game of life where we start with simple rules and out of that complex artifacts emerge. Or we can look at the social networks that where something simple at the beginning, but have evolved into positive and negative artifacts of our lives. Or at ourselves, at life, at the constant cooperation and competion of virus and bacteria living on and in our bodies.

Anyway, I find this video hilarious, because we coundn’t imagine when we started making integrated circuit for the Apolo mission that in a few decades we would be adding wireless circuits with microprocesson into lightbulbs. But we certainly cound’t imagine that we would be reseting them with such a hilarious long sequence of steps.
